Pupil Voice in Action: Backwards Day Brings Fun and Fundraising Together
Our school was buzzing with excitement this week as pupils and staff took part in a wonderfully creative “Backwards Day”, organised by our School Council
We still have spaces available to join our lovely school in different year groups during 2025/26 and for next academic year’s Reception Class of 2026/27. Please go to the ‘Join Us’ section of our website.
Dear Parents, Carers and visitors
We would like to extend a warm welcome to all the children, their families, friends, and members of the local community who are central to the life of Sir Robert Geffery’s School. At SRG we cherish and nurture every child, recognising their unique, individual interests, talents and strengths, which make our school a happy and exciting place to learn and work. Throughout children’s time here we ensure that they will have the opportunities to fulfil their potential academically, socially and spiritually.
Due to our vision that all children and adults should ‘live life in all its fullness (John 10:10)’ we offer an exceptionally broad and deep curriculum with rich learning experiences across the primary curriculum and beyond. Our passion for offering this ‘fullness’ of education, experience and enjoyment of learning helps each child to ‘be the best they can’ whether this be in exciting lessons in class or in the many and varied after school clubs that we offer. In this way we live out the vision and aspiration of Sir Robert Geffery who left money to start a church school in the village where he was born over 400 years ago.
SRG has a ‘family’ atmosphere where we value the crucial partnership between parents and school and we are a true part of the Landrake community. Our children learn and show our Christian school values of creation, forgiveness, trust, love, peace, thankfulness, service and friendship as they go about their learning each day, inside and outside of the classroom. We aim to create a fully inclusive school environment where we strive for each child to develop a passion for learning and a sense of excitement in their own achievement and that of others. Children love the recognition that they or their peers get on a regular basis for a variety of things such as showing our values, for giving excellent effort and for showing key learning behaviours (e.g. resilience, collaboration).
We are a primary academy with a Christian ethos and have close links with St. Michael’s church in the village. Several members of The Worshipful Company of Ironmongers (who, in keeping with Sir Robert Geffery’s wishes, founded the school in 1704) are actively involved in the governance of the school and they have a wealth of experience in education and business. They work together with the local governors to oversee the strong strategic leadership and direction of the school. Please check our ‘governors’ page for more information.
If you are looking for a school place for your child, please give our office a call and see our admission arrangements which can be found in the Document Library under Policies. We would welcome your visit to our wonderful school where you can see our motto of ‘a school for enthusiasts’ in action.
Thank you for taking the time to browse our website and welcome to our school,
