Discovering Performers

The school has had a long tradition of making remarkable music; a tradition which it is determined to maintain.

We always try to encourage every child to enjoy music in various forms through listening, performing and composing. There are many groups which make music on a regular basis throughout the week, performing for special occasions and church services.

Working with the County Music Service and with visiting teachers, the school offers tuition lessons across a wide spectrum of instruments, such as piano, flute, clarinet, brass or strings – as well as providing singing lessons.

Thanks to the Ironmongers’ Company, funds are made available for the formation of a school orchestra.

The hand-bell team and the flute duet have won prizes at county level and our orchestra has also been commended.

The school enjoys regular productions, mainly in the Winter Term, which provide opportunities for pupils on the stage.
