Year 1 & 2: The Box, Plymouth
We are excited to announce we have secured an educational visit on Wednesday 6th December for children in our Year 1 and Year 2 classes to visit The Box in Plymouth.
The children have enjoyed our history-related topic ‘Fun and games’ and our science topic of ‘Materials’ so far this term. To enhance their learning children will be taking part in a STEAM Toys workshop where children will be learning through experimentation, discovering the STEAM behind modern and historic toys. Through exploring how toys are designed, children will be challenged to conceive, create, and test their own STEAM inspired toys.
This visit will be a wonderful opportunity to continue to be inspired by their learning about toys through the past; building upon our learning in the classroom.
Activities at the museum will be led by the education team there and the cost of this is already discounted for a school group. We have negotiated the best price possible on the coach – we are asking if parents could please pay £10.50 to cover this visit – this is payable on ParentPay.
Children need to arrive at school ideally by 8:45am, for coach departure just after registration.
Children will need:
A packed lunch – including a healthy morning snack
Drinks bottle
Green PE hoodies on top of their school uniform
A coat for the walk to and from the coach.
