Train to be a teacher on our Bridging the Tamar Learning Alliance School Direct Course
The School Direct Initial Teacher Training route is for anyone wishing to train as a teacher who has a degree (in any subject) and is able to commit to a one-year on the job training programme working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recommendation. The training is based in school, and is similar in many ways to training programmes in universities and colleges. Teaching Assistant Apprenticeships
We are also proud of our high number of apprentices here at SRG who have either completed their 18month teaching assistant apprenticeships and moved on to other schools or professions, or indeed successfully secured a place to stay here with us in employment as a teaching assistant. We even have teaching staff who joined us as TA apprentices and have trained to be a teacher with us too.
Our Apprentice programmes are run in partnership with both Plymouth Argyle Community Trust and Plymouth City College and available to those of any age, but who have the commitment and drive to work with children and make a positive difference to young lives.
