Key Stage 2 children have begun their much-loved enrichment sessions on Friday afternoons from the very start of this autumn term. The rotation of sessions sees children enjoying a wide range of activities that add to our already rich curriculum and include: sewing, with some having already made beautiful Christmas tree decorations to treasure; using tools safely together in Forest Schools; looking after the animals on our unique and treasured farm; outdoor well-being and creative play in PlayPod sessions; sports coaching with Argyle; pointillism painting in Art; and some tasty cooking sessions.
This week, an example team from Year 5 were learning all about the ingredients and methods to make their own pizzas. Mr Mugford (TA studying to be a teacher and secret chef) was impressed with their kneading skills – pressing, stretching and rotating the dough to make their own bases – and with the children’s ability to multi-task in recording the recipe in their own recipe books.
Mr O’Hara was not impressed that no-one left him any of the tasty pizzas to taste test! Maybe next time!
