Christian Values
In accordance with the wishes of Sir Robert Geffery, the children are educated along the lines of Christian principles, and the school is described as a Church of England Voluntary Aided Foundation School.
Children live and breathe our Christian values and we integrate daily worship into each school day – this might be in class prayers, assemblies and songs and hymns. We find that children respond well to the values and guidance that this Christian ethos gives them and there is a nurturing, caring and family ‘feel’ to the school, about which all members of the school community are proud. Please read on to find out more.
SRG Vision
Our Sir Robert Geffery’s School vision has been developed over time in collaboration with representatives from our whole school community.
Our aim is to provide a living, caring Christian school environment in which each individual child can thrive in their own way, develop a passion for learning and a sense of excitement in their own achievement and that of others. As a school community, we realise this aim by having a passion to offer our children the very best education, opportunities and experiences inside and outside the classroom. In this way, children and staff flourish and we achieve our vision:
School Values
Our Sir Robert Geffery’s School Values are:
Creation, Forgiveness, Trust, Love, Peace, Thankfulness, Service and Friendship
Children learn to live the values out through their everyday words, actions and prayers. They also enjoy singing about our school values through our SRG song:
Bible Stories
We use our special 10 Bible stories to help us understand how God is our strength and how this helps us in our everyday lives in the modern world. The messages and learning from these are referred to in class worship, Open The Book and whole school worship assemblies and meaningful links are made to everyday school life. The following is our SRG Bible story tapestry in the hall, created by children and members of our community:
At SRG we are proud to provide our children and staff with:

Collective worship is central to the life of Sir Robert Geffery’s School. It is an expression of our vision and shapes our approach to others and to what we do in school.
St Michael’s Church in the village of Landrake is a beautiful church, steeped in history and has a caring and friendly community.
At Sir Robert Geffery’s we value the various communities in which we live, work and learn each day. This includes the community within each class and the importance of the social and emotional side to learning that is so important to each child’s all round development.
Over the last decade, we have worked with our partner school in Uganda called Hillside School, Ikona. Staff have taken part in an exchange visit on different occasions and children communicate with each other between schools through sending letters describing their daily lives and hopes for the future
As a Church of England voluntary aided school, we have a church inspection approximately every four to five years, as well as the standard Ofsted inspection
