Writing with a Purpose

At SRG, we always think about the purpose of a new piece of writing. At times this might be writing an exciting story or narrative to excite a reader and take them into an imaginary world; at other times, the purpose is one of needing to communicate something real. Writing is a real life skill – we help children get ready for writing beyond primary school in a variety of ways, including using chrome books to write digitally.

This half term, Year 3 and 4 have been writing persuasive letters to local businesses to ask them if they would be willing to help us in some way in our no-dig growing project on our school farm. Here are just a few examples:
