Ironmongers

We are incredibly proud and grateful to have the continued support of the Ironmongers’ Company. The Company has generously awarded Sir Robert Geffery’s School an annual grant, helping to enrich the experiences, opportunities and learning environment we are able to provide for our children. These funds, made possible through the generosity and charitable giving of Ironmongers’ members for over 300 years, with Sir Robert Geffery (a previous Master of the Ironmongers and Lord Mayor of London) leaving money in trust to form the village school in 1704′ at the end of the first paragraph. Of of which made a meaningful and lasting difference to our school community.

Over recent years, the Ironmongers’ Company has supported a wide range of projects and initiatives at SRG, including educational visits for children who may otherwise be unable to access them, improvements to our school farm, support for our orchestra provision, contributions towards our annual Speech Day marquee, and developments to our Early Years outdoor learning environment. Their generosity has helped ensure that our pupils can continue to benefit from rich, memorable and inspiring experiences both within and beyond the classroom.

The Ironmongers’ Company has a proud history stretching back more than 700 years, with its origins rooted in the iron trade in the City of London. Throughout its long history, charitable work and supporting communities have remained central to the Company’s values. Today, the Company continues to champion education, science and technology (STEM), the iron and steel industries, and care for older people, alongside supporting schools and young people across the country.

We are deeply thankful for the partnership and encouragement of the Ironmongers’ Company and for the positive impact their support continues to have on the lives of our children and wider school community.
