School Models and Artwork on show at Community Village Hall

On Saturday 28th September, children’s DT, Art and craft work was on display in the Geffery’s Village Hall as part of a Craft and Model show organised by the local village community. Their work looked great alongside the professional and semi-professional models also on display.

Within Key Stage 2 enrichment sessions, children had been upcycling shoe boxes and other items to create models of our school and community farm that is on the site. There were some fabulous re-creations of a pig house, chicken pens and even fences and a stable for our famous Polly the donkey. Fantastic individual reproductions of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers were also on display – borrowed from our celebrated SRG Gallery corridor in school.

Beautifully designed and hand-crafted wire and paper lanterns from recent Design Technology lessons were also on display. These were inspired by the children’s research into the work of local Cornish artist and lampshade designer Alison Bick.
