SRG Celebrated in Ironmonger’s Report

At SRG, we are blessed with a wonderful tradition and history that stretches back to 1704, when Landrake-born Sir Robert Geffery left money in trust to start a school in the village. The trust is administered by the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers and they have continued to be heavily involved in the school ever since – as trustees/governors and members of our academy trust, they offer their support, challenge and expertise to help the school continue to flourish. This includes an element of financial support that is not available to other institutions and allows us to offer facilities and learning experiences that enrich the children’s time here (e.g. the school farm; the Year 6 banquet at Ironmonger’s Hall, London etc).

Sir Robert Geffery’s School is celebrated in the 2023-4 Ironmongers Annual Report (on pages 36 and 37) which is here and is also accessible from their website.

Please contact the school office and have a look at our ‘Join Us’ page if you would like to be part of our enthusiastic school community and indeed, part of living history.
