Science Week at SRG

Science Week and use of the Farm and Grounds

It was great to hear such a buzz around school last week for British Science Week. In each class, children have been learning various science knowledge – many activities have been linked to our amazing Sir Robert Geffery’s School and Community Farm. Example activities include: Year 1 learning about chicken adaptations and the interesting breeds we have on our Farm; Year 2 making wormeries including doing a seagull dance; Year 6 making their own butter; Year 3 designing rockets and learning about how sheep have adapted; Year 4 learning about moth adaptations to the local environment; Year 5 re-designed the Solar System and thinking about what adaptations animals would need to survive on their planets. What a great week for Science and the LEAF (Linking Environments and Farming) Bronze school work that we do.
