SRG’s community focus on sustainability

Throughout last week, we were very lucky to welcome back Hayley from Cornwall Climate Care to hold workshops on Climate Change.

Visiting every year group from Reception to Year 6, Hayley talked to the children about topics like global warming and greenhouse gases. Pupils then apply their skills and knowledge through games, art and discussion activities.

In addition, Year 6 learnt about how new species of fish from warmer waters are now found around the British Isles and that this is due to changing sea temperatures.

The children also explored the role of plankton and its importance within food chains and in producing oxygen for us.

We’re so proud to be able to provide a fascinating week of science learning on such an important global topic. Thank you Hayley.
