Year 3 Residential Visit to Spirit of Adventure

Earlier this week, our Year 3 children embarked on an exciting milestone in their primary school journey – their very first residential visit to Spirit of Adventure on the beautiful Dartmoor.

From the moment they arrived, the children embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and determination. With muddy boots, sunny skies and wide smiles, they threw themselves into a range of outdoor challenges designed to build confidence, teamwork and resilience.

Throughout the trip, our Year 3 pupils demonstrated exceptional bravery and kindness. Whether encouraging a friend to try something new, working collaboratively to solve a problem, or stepping outside their comfort zone, they showed maturity and courage that made us immensely proud. It was wonderful to see new friendships blossom and existing ones grow even stronger.

Residential visits are such an important part of school life. They provide children with the opportunity to develop independence, strengthen social skills and create memories that will last a lifetime. For many, this was their first time staying away from home – a significant achievement in itself – and they rose to the occasion brilliantly.

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them for the positive attitude and resilience they displayed throughout the trip.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated staff team – Mr Yeoman, Mr O’Hara, Mrs Pierce-Jones and Vicky – who gave their time, energy and care to ensure the children had such a safe, enriching and enjoyable experience.

What a fantastic adventure, and what special memories have been made!
